Welcome

Welcome to Carr Infant and Nursery School

Thank you for visiting our school website, we hope it provides a useful way for you to find out more about us here at Carr, but if there is anything further you would like to know then please either telephone, email or come in and speak to us. We are always willing (and proud) to show visitors around our school.

Our school has approximately 230 pupils on roll from 3 years old to 7, who are taught by our friendly, nurturing staff team. These staff are supported by a hard working Friends of Carr (parent volunteers) and a pro-active Governing Body. Together, we ensure that the children are always the focus of school life and are valued both as individuals and as part of the school community. We have close links with Carr Junior School and work together to ensure a smooth transition for the Year 2 pupils moving into Year 3.

Our children have the opportunity to learn and develop in a modern building with an extensive outdoor area. We believe that children's learning is much wider than that defined in the National Curriculum, and look to enhance knowledge and confidence through visits and visitors, using our Forest School areas and outdoor shelters, cooking with the children in our kitchen area as well as teaching the children about the history and significance of the local area they live in.

All children are supported and encouraged to reach their full potential, regardless of their starting points or additional needs, and do so in a caring, friendly, nurturing environment. At Carr, what matters above all else, is that our children are happy and enjoy their time with us. We are here to work closely with you as parents and carers and staff will always endeavour to make time to talk with you when needed. We aim to meet the needs of our school community in the best ways we can, and welcome all feedback as a continually growing and developing school.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message, and if you require any of the information on the website in paper form, please get in touch.
