Online Safety
Online/E-Safety at Carr Infant School
At Carr Infant School, we are committed to ensuring that all pupils receive a thorough and age-appropriate e-safety curriculum to help them stay safe when using technology at school and at home.
E-safety is embedded across our curriculum, with key learning delivered through Computing, PSHE, and assemblies to provide children with ongoing teaching about the importance of staying safe online. Additionally, at the start of each new Computing topic, children receive a dedicated online safety lesson to reinforce key messages. Each half-term, we focus on a new age-appropriate e-safety theme that links to children's learning in Computing and supports their growing understanding of the digital world.
Our bespoke, spiralled curriculum ensures that online safety knowledge builds progressively over time, equipping children with the skills they need to navigate the internet responsibly while following the National Curriculum guidelines for Computing.

Teaching Safe and Responsible Technology Use
- Each year, children are asked to read and sign an Acceptable Use Agreement, outlining clear expectations for using technology in school and focusing on online safety. This agreement is displayed in classrooms as a reminder for both children and staff.
- Online safety is reinforced throughout the year in assemblies, covering new and emerging e-safety risks.
- We provide practical advice for parents on how to keep their children safe online, with useful links to trusted e-safety resources.
