Our Curriculum at Carr Infant School
Aims of Carr Infants Curriculum
The overarching aim of the curriculum at Carr Infants is to nurture confident, communicative, and creative learners.
- We strive to provide a broad and balanced education that ignites curiosity, fosters resilience, and equips children with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in Juniors.
- Our whole curriculum values inclusivity and seeks to develop the whole child, preparing them for future success both academically and personally.
At Carr Infant School, our curriculum is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and develop communication and creativity in every child. Rooted in high expectations and strong values, we offer a rich, broad, and balanced curriculum that supports children’s academic, social, and emotional development.
Learning is carefully sequenced and tailored to meet children where they are, helping children progress as quickly as possible — but as slowly as necessary.
From Nursery to Year 2, we provide purposeful learning experiences that inspire children to love learning and prepare them for the next stage in their journey.
As an infant school, we have the opportunity to support early learning with an infant focus. Our curriculum is grouped around the areas of Development Matters; however, we have full coverage of the National Curriculum subjects in Key Stage 1 under these broader areas.
