Starting School in Our Reception Classes

At Carr Infant School, we currently offer 60 places in our Reception classes.

Children are eligible to start Reception in September of the school year in which they turn five years old (the school year runs from 1st September to 31st August).

How to Apply

Reception admissions are organised centrally by City of York Council. The admissions criteria for Reception are different from those listed on the Nursery admissions page—please note that having a place in our Nursery does not guarantee a place in Reception.
