Prospective parents who have moved into the area are invited to contact the school directly to arrange a visit and find out more about Carr Infant School.

Admissions to Junior Schools

Children at Carr Infant School transfer to a junior school at the end of Year 2. The school will distribute the City of York Council ‘Guide for Admissions to Junior School’ to parents of Year 2 children at the start of September. We will also arrange a meeting for parents to discuss the process and key dates for applications.

Open days at junior schools are held throughout September and early October, and parents are encouraged to attend these events. Completed application forms must be submitted to City of York Council by the deadline in mid-January. Offers are made in April, with any appeals typically heard later in the summer term.
